Bespin

Overview

Bespin is a gas giant and confirmed mission location in Star Wars Zero Company. It is best known as the home of Cloud City — a massive tibanna gas mining and processing platform floating in the planet’s Life Zone, the narrow habitable band of atmosphere.

In Star Wars Canon

Bespin first appeared in The Empire Strikes Back (1980). Cloud City is administered by Baron Administrator Lando Calrissian in that era. In Star Wars Zero Company, the game is set during the Clone Wars (~20 BBY) — roughly two decades before the events of The Empire Strikes Back — meaning the Bespin of this game predates the version most familiar to Star Wars audiences.

The planet’s economy is built around tibanna gas extraction, making it a commercially significant world with the political complexity that tends to follow valuable resources.
