Infinite Coil

Overview

The Infinite Coil is the primary antagonist faction of Star Wars Zero Company. EA’s official enemies hub describes it as follows:

The Infinite Coil is a Separatist-aligned paramilitary cult led by Kundri Fathom. Every member, Fathom included, is infected with the Shadow Plague, a mysterious disease rumored to grant unnatural resilience and deadly abilities. The Coil preys on vulnerable populations across Republic worlds, and with every world they take, the plague spreads and their ranks swell.

EA frames the Coil as a “dangerous, growing threat that will consume the galaxy if they’re left unchecked”. It is a previously unseen faction in the Star Wars universe, created for the game.

The Shadow Plague

The Shadow Plague is the disease at the centre of the game’s threat and the thing that binds the Coil together. Points stated in official material:

• Every member of the Coil is infected, Kundri Fathom included
• It is described as a mysterious disease, and its effects are rumoured rather than established: unnatural resilience and deadly abilities
• It spreads by conquest, so each world the Coil takes both widens the infection and grows the faction

Growth by Conquest

The Coil’s recruitment and its spread are the same process. It targets vulnerable populations on Republic worlds, and every world taken swells its ranks while carrying the plague further. That compounding loop is what makes the faction a strategic threat over the course of a campaign rather than a fixed enemy force.

Alignment

EA describes the Coil as Separatist-aligned and as a paramilitary cult. Earlier hands-on previews characterised it as a Dark Side cult, and EA’s material makes no such claim: Fathom’s Force use is explicitly presented as disputed, with some believing she wields the Force and others regarding her as a charlatan.
