Modding

Overview

Star Wars Zero Company has no official mod support. Bit Reactor has confirmed that none is planned. There is no Steam Workshop integration, no in-game mod browser, and no developer-supplied modding tools.

A community modding scene exists regardless, hosted on Nexus Mods. Everything in it is unofficial.

Community Modding Methods

Two methods are in use:

  • Packaged file mods: mods distributed as packaged game archives, placed in a mods folder inside the game’s installation so they load ahead of the original files. This covers most cosmetic and data changes.
  • UE4SS: a community scripting layer that loads alongside the game and supports script and logic mods rather than file replacement. Several mods list it as a prerequisite.

Vortex, the Nexus Mods manager, has a community extension for the game. It handles both methods, along with configuration tweaks and display presets.

Installation steps differ by mod and by store, and are maintained on each mod’s own page.

Where Mods Are Hosted

Mods for the game are hosted on Nexus Mods , which also carries the Vortex extension and the UE4SS build that other mods depend on.

Types of Mod Available

Mods listed so far fall into three groups:

  • Economy and pacing adjustments: reducing the Credit cost of Den upgrades, Black Market stock, and Operations, or shortening build times
  • Quality-of-life changes: adjustments to action costs and similar
  • Performance and display configuration: packaged configuration changes covering frame pacing, latency, and image clarity

Compatibility and Support

  • Mods are unofficial. Neither Bit Reactor nor EA supports them.
  • Game updates can break mods built against an earlier version.
  • The interaction between mods and permadeath or trophy conditions has not been confirmed.
