Campaign Length
Overview
Star Wars Zero Company runs roughly 30 to 40 hours for the main story campaign. That figure comes from Bit Reactor: producer Adam Funk gave 30 to 40 hours as the estimate for an average player, and said it varies with difficulty and with how much experience a player has with the strategy genre.
The campaign is linear and there is no New Game+, though some customisation options unlock on later playthroughs.
What Reviewers Measured
Reviews published at the launch embargo broadly matched the studio’s estimate. GamesRadar+ reported putting 40 hours into the game for its review. GRYOnline.pl described it as a linear, story-driven experience of about 40 hours. Both figures include optional content alongside the main campaign.
What Changes the Total
Several systems move the number in either direction:
- Difficulty. A Story difficulty exists for players who are here for the Star Wars material rather than the tactics, and reviewers who found the standard setting comfortable recommended that genre veterans start higher. Harder settings mean more retries and longer fights.
- Optional missions. Only one tactical mission can be run per Cycle, but companion missions and skirmishes sit alongside the campaign ones. The trophy for completing 50 Optional Missions puts a floor under how many a full playthrough can hold.
- Operations. The non-combat scenarios launched from the holo-map cost Intel rather than a Cycle, so several can be run between missions.
- Permadeath. Losing Operators costs time in rebuilding and re-levelling replacements.
- Mission timers. Operations expire and story missions become obligatory after a time, so no single run can complete everything on offer.
