Trick
Overview
Trick, formerly designated CT-3301, is a clone trooper with Jango Fett lineage and one of Zero Company’s founding members. He is voiced by Dee Bradley Baker, who has voiced clone troopers across Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series and other Star Wars productions.
A consummate soldier who loves games of chance, Trick served under Hawks in the Republic military. He was injured saving his commanding officer, Captain Hawks, from a Separatist attack on Antine. Trick made a full recovery, but was declared unfit for military service and chose to join Hawks as one of the first operators in Zero Company. He is described as a soldier whose “laconic wit masks a haunted heart,” suggesting a character carrying psychological weight from the Clone Wars despite an outwardly dry personality. EA adds that he is loyal to his friends and to the Republic, despite the discharge.
Trick’s history as a clone trooper puts him in direct tension with Luco Bronc, the Umbaran sharpshooter. The planet of Umbara was a brutal guerrilla campaign for the Republic during the Clone Wars, and that bad blood between a clone soldier and an Umbaran veteran is a confirmed source of squad friction.
Combat
Trick functions in a combat role consistent with heavy or ranged support. In the PC Gamer hands-on preview, Trick was observed using a rocket attack and following up with a heavy blaster salvo in the same turn, demonstrating how the Advantage meter enables ability chains that bypass normal AP costs.
Gameplay footage of a power station mission shows Trick carrying a Repeater and firing Fire Repeating Blaster: a Final Action that consumes all remaining AP, dealing Blaster Damage plus additional Rapid Fire Damage based on the AP consumed, listed at 22 damage for 3 AP. See Weapons.
His unique talent is For My Brothers: Trick can withstand being Downed and automatically revives during the next turn, with upgrades improving the health recovered and his injury resistance. The talent softens, but does not remove, his exposure to permadeath. See Class System for the full authored talent list.
Antine
Antine is the site of the Separatist attack where Trick was wounded saving Hawks. It is named only in EA’s operator biography for Trick and has no page of its own here yet.
Permadeath
Despite being a named story character, Trick is subject to the game’s permadeath mechanic. Official materials confirm that every story squadmate, not just generic recruits, can die permanently, and the narrative will continue without them.
