Runa Blask

Overview

Runa Blask is a Togruta who manages finances and operational logistics for Zero Company from the Den. She is a non-combat character based at the Den rather than a field Operator, voiced by Vic Michaelis.

Background

Runa is a native of Taris and was once a financial analyst for galactic megacorporations, including the Banking Clan. That career explains the role she now fills at the Den: the finance and operations work is the same expertise applied at a far smaller scale, which is part of why she regards Zero Company as a step down.

Character

Runa is a dyed-in-the-wool Separatist partisan, forced out of the Confederacy by internal politicking. She makes no effort to hide her ideology; every interaction with Hawks is an opening for a lecture about the Republic’s expansionist, imperialist ways. PC Gamer described her as sounding like “the Star Wars version of a Communist kicked out of the party for being too annoying.”

In one confirmed scene, Runa tells Hawks outright that her time with the Separatists made up the best days of her life, and that Zero Company is a significant downgrade.

Despite being abrasive and openly hostile to the Republic cause, Runa is one of the most distinctive characters in the cast, a foil who challenges Hawks’ assumptions at every turn. EA states that she still holds to Separatist political values and is not afraid to say that Zero Company is a big step down, but that Hawks tolerates her rough edges because she is so good at her job.
