Ring of Kafrene
Overview
The Ring of Kafrene is a mining colony and trading station situated in the Kafrene asteroid belt. It serves as the location of the Den — Zero Company’s base of operations throughout the game.
The Ring of Kafrene was first depicted in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016), where it appeared briefly as the setting for a key intelligence exchange early in that film.
The Den
The Den is Zero Company’s home base, located within the Ring of Kafrene. Between missions, the squad returns here to:
- Plan future operations on the holographic galaxy map
- Pursue gear and research upgrades
- Recruit new squad members
- Build and maintain relationships through squad dialogue
The Ring of Kafrene’s status as a fringe trading post — outside the reach of both Republic law and Separatist control — makes it an appropriate home for an off-books unit like Zero Company.
In Star Wars Canon
The Ring of Kafrene appears in Rogue One as the location where Cassian Andor receives intelligence about the Death Star. Its appearance in Zero Company places the game in continuity with that location, though Zero Company is set approximately two decades before Rogue One during the Clone Wars (~20 BBY).
