Getting StartedMultiplayer & Co-op

Multiplayer & Co-op

Overview

Star Wars Zero Company has no multiplayer or co-op. It is a single-player game from end to end. EA and Bit Reactor have described it that way since the announcement, and reviewers who played the finished game before launch confirmed it: PC Gamer’s review lists the game’s multiplayer as “None”.

There is no co-op campaign, no competitive mode, no crossplay, and no online requirement. The game supports offline play.

What This Means in Practice

The whole campaign, including the strategy layer at the Den and every tactical mission, is played solo. Squads are filled by Operators you recruit and build rather than by other players, and the four squad slots on a mission are all under your control.

The systems that would carry a second player elsewhere are single-player systems here. The Bond System tracks relationships between your own squad members rather than between players. Custom Operators created in the character creator populate your roster and appear around the Den; they are not shared with anyone else.

What Has Not Been Announced

No co-op, competitive, or online mode has been announced for after launch either. Bit Reactor has said there are no plans for monetisation or microtransactions at this time, and nothing has been announced for DLC or post-launch content. There is also no official mod support.
