Clone Troopers
Overview
Clone troopers reach Zero Company by two routes: Trick, a founding member of the outfit and its named clone, and clone Operators recruited into the roster once the campaign opens them up. Both trace back to the same place in Hawks’ history, the 100th Clone Company, which is where the story of Zero Company starts.
Trick
Trick, formerly designated CT-3301, is the company’s named clone trooper and one of its founding members. He served under Hawks in the Grand Army of the Republic and was injured saving his commanding officer during the Separatist attack on Antine. He recovered, but was declared unfit for military service, and left alongside Hawks rather than stay behind. He is voiced by Dee Bradley Baker, who has voiced clone troopers across Star Wars: The Clone Wars and other Star Wars productions.
Mechanically, Trick is built like the soldier he was. His Clone Armour Training gives him a base Defense of 2, and his unique talent For My Brothers lets him revive automatically the turn after being Downed, taking the Injury but not needing an ally to spend AP rallying him. That softens his exposure to permadeath without removing it. See Trick for the full profile.
His clone service also sets up one of the squad’s sharper frictions: Luco Bronc is Umbaran, and Umbara was a brutal campaign for the Republic’s clones. The bad blood between them is a confirmed source of conflict in the Den.
The 100th Clone Company
Hawks captained the 100th Clone Company under Jedi General Pong Krell, and the unit was decimated in a failed assault on Antine. Hawks was scapegoated for it and their military career ended; Trick was invalided out of service by wounds taken in the same action. The mercenary outfit the pair went on to build carries the number forward as its name.
The company survives in the game’s cosmetics as well as its story: 100th Clone Company armour appears in the Deluxe Edition’s Grand Army of the Republic pack, and a 100th Clone Company weapon paint theme ships alongside it. See Editions & Pre-Order Bonuses.
Recruiting Clone Operators
Clone is one of the eleven origins available to custom Operators, but it is not open from the start. Clone troopers unlock after a certain point in the story, and once they do, a full clone squad is possible: Hawks is required on story missions, but every other slot can be filled with clones. See Squad Customisation.
Clone Armour and Customisation
Clone armour cosmetics are available from the start, before clone Operators themselves are recruitable, through a selection of paint jobs and patterns for helmets and armour. Clone Trooper helmets also apply a voice modulation effect to the Operator wearing one.
Two cosmetic sets extend that wardrobe through the Deluxe Edition’s Grand Army of the Republic Cosmetic Pack: the 100th Clone Company armour and a Republic Officer uniform, plus an ARC Trooper armour set that Bit Reactor has confirmed is exclusive to that pack. A wide selection of other cosmetics is available to all players at launch.
